Synthesis and Characterization of New Hetcrocyclic Polymers Contains Two 1, 3, 4- Oxadiazol Rings

Although aseptic guide lines were established to minimize the potential for disease transmission by prostheses, many laboratories and dental offices have failed to follow these procedures. Assessment four types of separating medium on surface roughness of self cure acrylic resin processed by two methods "A comparative study"

Surface roughness is known to be factor in the entrapment of microorganisms on acrylic surface, significantly higher number of microorganisms cells were observed on roughened surface than on smooth surface. In present study olive oil, and glycerin oil are used as a substitute for tin foil & cold mold seal (alginate mold seal) in the process of curing clear cold cure acrylic resin against stone and evaluating these new materials as a separating medium on surface roughness of cold cure acrylic resin cured in air(bench curing ), and in water(ivomat curing). A total of (64) specimens from clear cold cure acrylic resin were prepared for surface roughness test and divided into two major groups ,each major group subdivided into four subgroup according to the type of separating medium that used during processing .The major group one include (group A, group B, group C,& group D) ,the major group two include( group A1,group B1,group C1,&group D1) .From the result obtained, in bench curing groups, statistically significant differences in mean surface roughness value was observed of tin foil group compared with cold mold seal group ,from the other hand non significant differences between cold mold seal with olive oil group& glycerin oil groups ,also non significant differences between tin foil group with olive oil and glycerin oil groups ,but in ivomat curing groups , statistically significant differences between tin-foil group compared with cold mold seal group & olive oil group ,and highly significant difference between tin-foil group with glycerin group ,from the other hand non significant differences among cold mold seal group ,olive oil group and glycerin oil group.

The Antimicrobial activity of Allium porrum Water Extract against some pathogenic bacteria

This study was designed to evaluate antimicrobial activity of Allium porrum aqueous extract against some pathogenic bacteria. So that, the aqueous extract of A. porrum was screened for its anti-microbial activity using the plate agar diffusion method. It was tested against six bacterial species; three Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus pneumonia and Staphylococcus aureus) and three Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa). The susceptibility of these different bacterial species toward the extracts of this plant was compared with each other and with selected antibiotics (gentamicin and tetracycline) used as positive control. Results showed that aqueous extract of A.porrum had antimicrobial activity against all bacterial species.Then the active components which exist in aqueous extract were detected. Result indicated that amino acid with sulphate, glycosides, saponin and phenol were present in the aqueous extract.

Ab-initio-rhf methods calculation to study the fundamental vibrational frequency of Acetone ( CH3-CO-CH3)

The electronic distribution and energy level as well as modes of vibration of Acetone molecule are studied theortically using ab-initio methods .
The geometry optimization of the acetone was obtained depending on the restricted Hartree- Fock (rhf) equation for the restricted system by using STO - 3G basis sets.
The modes of vibrationes were calculated under the steady state geometry condition and presented in graphically with frequency,intensity and symmetry for each mode.
The molecular orbital calculation and energy level diagram appears that paired electron . The Ionization potential is equal to = 8.757333 eV , while the low electron affinity is equal to =8.075379 eV.
The total energy of acetone equal to (-5157.258583 eV) where calculated by Ab-initio method compared with different semi-empirical methods, indicate that Ab-initio method is very high accurate method to give the geometry more stable , because it takes in to a ccount all electron internal and external orbital but need a long time for calculation with a large process capacity .

3-D Finite Element Analysis Of Effect Cutting Edge Geometry on Cutting Forces ,Effective Stress , Temperature And Tool Wear In Turning

The problem of tool wear monitoring in machining operations, has been an active area of research for quite a long time. The accurate prediction of tool wear is important to have a better product quality and dimensional accuracy. In cutting tools the area close to the tool tip is the most important region and conditions at the tool tip must be carefully examined, if improvements in tool performance are to be achieved
In this study, 3-D finite element modeling of precision hard turning has been used to investigate the effects of cutting edge micro-geometry on tool forces, temperatures , stresses and tool wear in machining of AISI 1045 steel using uncoated carbide inserts with four distinct edge preparations. Three type of edge preparation are redesign by using software solid work 2008 , 1-honed edge(0.25 ,0.5 , 0.75 mm) , 2-chamfer (0.025 ,0,05 ,0.075 mm) , 3-land (150 and 0.05 ,0.1 ,0.2 ,0.3 mm) . Also perfectly sharp edge which is not prepared and redesign .
Simulation results for Hone micro-geometry inserts have tendency to result in lower forces, hence lower tool wear. Chamfer micro-geometry provides higher localized stress concentration. The highest stress and strain on workpiece occurred in the primary shear zone due to the highest deformation in this region, followed by the secondary shear zone. The maximum generated temperature was also found on secondary shearing zone .

A study of some blood hematology for different genetic groups of Sheep In Iraq

This study was conducted to assess the normal values of some biochemical constituents in blood serum of different genetic group of sheep Turkish Awassi . Assaf. Assaf X Local Awassi, Turkish X Local Awassi for both sexes From 2-month to 15 month of age . Overall mean values of Alkaline phosphates (ALP) for the different breeds and their crosseswas 40.1 KAU 100 ml and those for males and females were 41.1and 38.8KAU/100ml).Respectively. Overall values of GOT (67.9) was higher than that for GPT ( 40.3 ) across different breeds , ages and sexes .The values of total protein for all ages was 6.4 g 100 ml. The highest values were recorded at 12 months of age for Turkish X Local Awassi and for Local Awassi (7.8 and 7.7 g 100 ml. respectively ).
Overall mean values of serum albumin was 47.4%) for different ages and different breeds and their crosses studied. Serum albumin for males and females was 46.0 and 49.0% , respectively). Values of a-globulin percent among different breeds and between males and females were found to be not signify- cant.No consistent significant differences were found either among breeds or between sexes for both the (Beta and Kamma globulin percents. The blood status studied were within normal range among the different breeds and their crosses , these values show that there is at least no pathological conditions , and fluctuation within normal range This indicate that pin physiological regulatory mechanisms are functioning well and those animals are able to adapt to various climatic conditions of Iraq . The reported blood values in the present study could serve as reference values in study blood biochemistry of Iraqi , Assaf, as well as Turkey sheep under different experimental and physiologically conditions

ELASTIC BUCKLING OF PLATES UNDER IN-PLANE PATCH LOADING USING FINITE DIFFERENCE METHOD

The present study investigates the problem of linear buckling of thin steel plates subjected to in-plane patch compression loading. The stability problem treated using finite difference method. The present procedure is general and applicable to the buckling and free vibration of thin rectangular plates with various thickness variations. The influences of thickness variation, plate aspect ratios, and boundary conditions, and length of patch loading on the buckling load are shown graphically. The plate was analyzed with different tapering ratios (ta/to) (1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, and 2.0), so different lengths of axial patch loading (bp/b)(1.0-0.4) were taken. A comparison with previous works is made. Finally, it is shown that the buckling load factor will increase with decreasing length of axial patch loading where the decreasing the length of axial patch loading to 0.4 will increase the buckling load factor by about 40% for plate with aspect ratio (a/b=1) and tapering ratio (ta/to=1.0).

Isolation of Some Pathological Agents Cause Diarrhea Among Children In Al-Kufa City-Iraq

The study was conducted to investigate some pathological agents caused diarrhea in children under five years age ,there were collected as (960) samples from cases of diarrhea for children auditors to the out-patient of Primary health care, (Kufa city), conducted from January, (2005) to January, (2007).
Results of the study showed that the number of infected children was 440 in 2005 dispersed in (216) males and (214) females, from the total number there were 79(18%) cases bottle feeding without boiled water ,comparison with (520) in 2006 dispersed in (270) males and (250) females, from the total number there were 119 (22.88%) cases were bottle feeding without boiled water.
Has also been investigated for the presence of chlorine in water samples isolated from different sources (river, tanks and water tap ) by Chlorine Diethyl Paraphenylene Diamine were less than normal or negative for all samples.
It was also noted that there is a rise in the proportion of isolated parasites ,G .lamblia and E. histolytica in 2006 reaching to 140 (26.9%) , 112(21.5%) comparison with 2005 reaching to 129(29.3%), 92(20,9%) respectively,also been isolated and diagnosis of some microbial species and other variable rates which included E,coli ,motile bacteria and monilia .

Effect of Dimethylsulfoxide and Betaine on duplex polymerase chain reaction of human beta-globin gene amplification

A variety of additives and enhancing agents can be included in PCR amplifications to increase yield, specificity and consistency of PCR products. Blood samples were collected from (35) apparently healthy individual for DNA extraction and duplex PCR amplification according to the four different PCR component set up include: 1- standard set up (without PCR additives), 2- standard PCR set up plus 5% DMSO, 3- standard PCR set up plus 1M betaine, and 4- standard PCR set up plus 5% DMSO and 1M betaine. The results revealed that the standard optimization condition of duplex PCR amplification is enough to reveal a good PCR amplification of human beta-globin gene, and the studied PCR additives are useful in improvement of amplification in combination of 5 % DMSO and 1 M betaine.

DWT-DCT-Based Watermarking Technique

This research proposes a watermarking scheme for digital images. It uses a discrete wavelet transform (DWT) prior to the Discrete Cosine transform (DCT) to provide better imperceptibility in harmony with the human visual system, and higher robustness against signal processing attacks.
In this research, DWT is implemented for the cover image, and then applying the DCT to the DWT sub bands, binary watermark (payload) is modulated by exclusive-or (XOR) operation with a key to increase the security of the system and then embedding in the middle frequency DCT coefficients. The key is secret and stored inside the cover image to increase the robust of the system.

The study of liquid - liquid extraction of lanthanum (III) with derivative of amino acid N-Acetyl-cysteine that refers by (NAC) had been made. The effect of different parameters on the percent of extraction and distribution ratio such as type of medium ; time of equilibration , type of solvent , effect of some cations and anions, effect of redox agents , enrichment extraction , concentration of metal ; reagent, effect of batch extraction, salting out , and effect of temperature . The function of thermodynamic parameter of (ΔH , ΔG , ΔS) were calculated .The stoichiometry of the extraction was determined using two methods Mole ratio and Job' s methods. It was found to be (M: L) (1:3). The stability constant of complex in mole ratio method was calculated. Improvement of Physical and Mechanical Properties of Iraqi Gypsum Using Resole Resin

The objective of the present work is to improve physical and mechanical properties of local gypsum reinforced with Resole resin. The water-gypsum ratio was kept at 45% throughout all these experiments. The prepared composites show a clear improvement in impact, compression strength and modulus of elasticity while, the bending strength is reduced when the Resole resin proportion in gypsum was increased from 2.5 to 10%. The other objective of this study was to evaluate the water absorption of Resole –gypsum composite. From the experimental results it may be concluded that swelling % was reduced when the Resole percentage in gypsum- Resole composite was increased.

Measurement of Radon-222 exhalation rate in different kinds tablet medicine samplesby Detectors CR-39

Radon-222 concentration is indicated to the uranium in medicines and the amount of uranium in medicines can damage human’s kidneys by preventing normal elimination of urea and other waste products. We measured the radon gas concentration in twenty types of medicine samples as a tablet different in origin{ (IRAQI - BAGHDAD ) , ( IRAQI – SAFA) ,) IRAQI-NINAWA(, and (IRAQI - SAMARA ) } by using alpha-emitters registrations which are emitted from radon gas in (CR-39) nuclear track detector. A number of the detectors were used with dimensions of 1x1 cm2 and with exposure time of 60 days. The detectors collected and chemically treated . we found that the radon levels in medicine samples range from (0.0077-2.1) Bq/mg.

The relationship between the parameterizations of the Weibull model and the Cox hazards model by using application and simulation

The time for an event to take place in an individual is called a survival time. familiar parametric model for this type of data is the Weibull model, which is flexible model that allows for the inclusion of covariates of the survival times , Cox proportional hazards is another model also allows for the inclusion of covariates of survival times ,the research compares estimates of the slope of the covariate in the tow models with real data for (38) patients to estimate the parameters of the models by used the maximum likelihood method for the Weibull and the Breslow method for the semi-parametric Cox proportional hazards model. When the shape parameter is known, the estimate of tow models are related with the relation ( ) .Also by using the simulation to proving this relation the data was analysis by using the program (SAS 9.1) .

Controller Design for Active Suspension System for car with Unknown Mass by Using Routh-Hurwitz Criterion

In this paper we consider the quarter car active suspension system with unknown mass and the road disturbance . A control law was derived for achieving stability of the system and convergence that can considerably improved the ride comfort and road disturbance handling. This is accomplished by using Routh-Herwitz criterion and based on some assumptions. A mathematical proof is given to show the ability of the designed controller to ensure stability and convergence of the active suspension system and dispersion fast oscillation of system with unknown mass and road disturbances . Simulations were also performed for controlling quarter car suspension, where the results obtained from these simulations verify the validity of the proposed design.

Studying of antibacterial effect for leaves extract of Callistemon viminalis in vitro and vivo (urinary system) for rabbits

This study was designed to evaluate the effects the watery and alcoholic extracts from leaves of Callistemon viminalis in vitro to ten of pathogenic bacteria and study the alcoholic extract toward Streptococcus pneumonia on urinary system in vivo. The results showed the watery and alcoholic extracts from leaves of Callistemon viminalis have antibacterial activity against both Gram positive (Staphylococcus aureous – Streptococcus pneumonia – Staphylococcus epidermidis ) And Gram negative bacteria (Klebsilla pneumonia – Klebsilla oxytaci –Proteus vulgaricus - Escherichia coli) however the watery extract of Callistemon viminalis were more potent than alcoholic extract against pathogenic bacteria (80%) . According to results , Streptococcus pneumonia pathogen that more sensitive to ward Callistemon viminalis alcoholic extract was choosing to injected intraperitonialy as experimental infection in laboratory animals (vivo) which cause morphological and histopathological degenerative lesion of kidney cortex and medella tissue in addittion to change of renal profile test that include blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, creatinine kinase, uric acid, inaddition to calcium. but after alcoholic extract of Callistemon viminalis injected in these labratory animals cause significant improvment (p≤0.01) in the value of blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, creatinine kinase and uric acid. Calcium concentration has small improvement but don't reach significant degree, histopathological studies confirm these results which include regeneration of degenerative lesion for medulla and kidney cortex with convoluted tubules tissue

REAL TIME DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR DIABETES MANAGEMENT

Diabetes is one of the most prevalent chronic mellitus which occurs when blood glucose (sugar) increases more than normal. Diabetes management has been playing an important role on preventing or delaying occurrence of the life threatening diabetes complications. By providing a roaming operation environment, internet healthcare technologies can bring efficiencies and convenience to both diabetics and relative medics on diabetes management. The remote monitoring of patients is considered an important tool in facilitating improvements in diabetes care. The system will be focusing on diabetes which results from the body makes some insulin but cannot use it properly . The patients will have access into database to enter their medical readings and queries which related with their chronic illness and they will able to receive the latest developments and recommendations to take careful and follow the medical advice by practitioners. The system will gather their medicinal data and these data will be held on a database and the system will process these data to progress of the patients. It will allow the health care provider, to make a formed healthcare decision based on the collected data. The readings of diabetes and recommendations of treatments are sent to the patient and their general practitioners. A Hybrid approach for Image Segmentation

This research presents an improved approach for segmentation by using the relationship between pixels which are similar and discontinuous.
In similarity relation ,Thresholding segmentation approach is used by finding a good threshold level .Then merging and splitting the pixels of image according to this threshold value. Then Merging the pixels that are grater or equal to the threshold value in gray level and splitting the pixels that are less than threshold value by making the value of these pixels zero so the object will be segmented.
In discontinuity relation ,edge deduction is used by splitting the object using sobel operator and merging the lines by using Hough transform. The image in result will be binary image representing the object that was separated from its back ground.
Finally the resultant image is an image contains the objects that has the high brightness in similarity thresholding segmentation, but in discontinuity the resulting image is objects contain high frequencies mean that the objects have many edges.
Simply it is known that the background has few edges and at many times contains low frequencies so the object here will be segmented by Hough transform segmentation, and also the object that have more brightness will be segmented from the background especially when the background is less brightness.
This research is very useful to construct a medicine application applied on MRI ( Magnetic Resonance Imaging ) used to recognize any tumors,….etc.
this research is programmed using Visual Basic 6 and shows a good results.

Effect of Some Inhibitors on Protease Extracted from Caper (Capparis spinosa L.)

Caper protease showed maximum activity at pH 6.0 when it was determined at various pH’s while it was no activity in pH 9.0 and 9.5. No effect of chelating agent (EDTA) on activity where as reducing reagent (Cysteine) showed perceptible effect typically at 0.7 mM. Protease was purified by (NH4)2SO4 precipitation, CM Cellulose ion exchange and Sephadex G100 size exclusion. Purification fold for three steps were 1.33, 1.96 and 4.26, respectively. The inhibitor E64 gave complete inhibition compared with other inhibitors. Finally activation energy of thiol protease to convert and denaturation were 37.24 kJ mole-1 and 129.47 respectively.

Evaluation the effect of x-ray on the salivary pH in case of gingivitis

To evaluate the effect of the x-ray on the pH of the saliva in gingivitis in compare with control group. In this study 25 patients aged between 18-35 years suffering from gingivitis, were selected, came for periodontal treatment & 10 volunteers with normal gingiva used as control group. Unstimulated Saliva collected from all patients before & after exposed to the x-ray, the salivary pH measured in both groups pre & post exposed to the x-ray. The readings showed in control group decrease in salivary pH post exposure to x-ray, analyzed by ANOVA test. There was significant difference( p- value < 0.05) in pH value pre & post exposure to the x-ray, while the readings showed in gingivitis increase in salivary pH post exposure to x-ray, analyzed by ANOVA test . There was significant difference (p- value < 0.05) in pH value pre & post exposure to the x-ray .



When the salivary water exposure to the x-ray, it will analyze the following reaction:



Therefore, this explains the decrease in the pH of saliva in the control group. But the calcium, phosphate & protein are high in the saliva of gingivitis patients, so the exposed of these patients to the x-ray lead to hydrolysis of salivary water to two hydroxide ions & 2 hydrogen ions.
The calcium hydroxide is strong base while the carbonic acid is a weak acid, so this explains why the salivary pH increased in case of gingivitis may be reach to the 9 degree due to this strong base. pH of the saliva decreased in case of the control group while increased in case of the gingivitis.

Z-scan experiment was performed using Nd-YAG1064) nm( and Nd-YVO4 laser in two parts532) nm). The first part has been done using a closed aperture placed in front of the detector to measure the nonlinear refractive index at two wavelengths. The second part was done using an open aperture to measure the nonlinear absorption coefficient at two wavelengths.

Study the Correlation of Anti-gliadin IgA & IgG with Iron & Total Iron Binding Capacity & Albumin in sera of Patients with Celiac Disease

Celiac disease (CD) is characterized by malabsorption of nutrients , chronic inflammation and damage of small intestinal mucosa caused by the ingestion of gliadin fraction of wheat gluten and barley . Since the anemia its diagnosis the CD, therefore were measured iron, total iron binding capacity(T.I.B.C.) , and its relationship with antigliadin IgG,IgA and serum albumin. Thirty patients with CD were studied and compared with twenty healthy individuals. Significant elevation of iron and albumin and anti-gliadin IgG,IgA were observed in the sera of patients with CD compared with the control group. Also a significant negative correlation between anti-gliadin IgG,IgA and iron were found in the sera of patients with CD while a non significant correlation were found between albumin and anti-gliadin IgG,IgA in the sera of patients with CD.

Using caree-free water conditioner system for treating saline water and its effect on soil chemical properties and Alfalfa growth properties

A Field experiment was conducted in silty clay soil classified as Fine Loamy active calcareous hyperthermic Typic Torrifluvents . The soil was planted with Alfalfa crop variety ( Medicago sativa ) during the season of 2008 – 2009 .
Two irrigation water types were used , namely ; treated water by Care-free water conditioners system and untreated water ( Shutt-Alarab river water ) its EC was 7.94 dsm – 1 . Care-free system was conducted in the irrigation pass line of the Shutt-Alarab river water ; the diameter of system was 1.5 inch ( 3.81 cm ) .
The soil properties changed due to using Care-free system was studied after one , two and three months . The studied soil chemical properties were EC , ESP and pH of soil at depths ( 0 – 25 ) , ( 25 – 50 ) and ( 50 – 75 ) cm . The Alfalfa crop properties measured were plant height , branches number , stem diameter , length and width of leaflet , green weight and total crop production .
The results showed that the treated water significantly reduced EC , ESP and pH values by 24.55 , 18.86 and 0.77 % respectively as compared with untreated water . The EC and ESP values were higher in soil depth of ( 0 – 25 ) cm as compared with depths ( 25 – 50 ) and ( 50 – 75 ) cm . EC value also increased by 29.61 % after the third crop harvesting while the highest value of ESP was 12.35 and it was recorded after the second crop harvesting . The treated water increased the total production of the crop , green weight , plant length , branches numbers , stem diameter and leaflet length and width by 37.08 , 75.06 , 17.90 , 39.34 , 36.60 19.87 and 37.83 % respectively as compared with untreated water . Some crop parameters total crop production , green weight , plant height , length and width of leaflet were decreased after the third crop harvesting by 22.37 , 21.26 , 22.84 , 24.96 and 56.82 % respectively as compared with first harvest . The second harvest gave the biggest stem diameter , but the number harvesting was not effected significantly in the number of plant shoots .

The objective of the study was to investigation the effect of Vapor Gard ( 0% , 2% and 4% ) ( VG0 , VG1 and VG2 ) and a different kinds of rooms ( S0 , S1 , S2 و S3) on some storage characteristics of orange fruits local Cv. For tow months.
The results showed that weight loss, juice percentage, TSS and pH of juice fruits were the least when VG increased . weight loss percentage was increased when the fruits was storied in the S0 with S3 which was 50% , while it decreased in the S1 which was 46% .
The percentage of juice was decreased when used the S0 (control), while the percentage of TSS decreased when used the S0 with S3 . The percentage of juice and TSS were increased when used S1 . The pH of juice fruits decreased when used S0 which was 3.4 , while it increased when used S0 with water which was 4.2 .

Compare three densities from carp fish raised in flotant cages

This study was conducted to examining the rate of increase for carp fish weight that raised in flotant cages on three densities 55,66,and 77 fish for one cubic meter from size of cage. The size of cages was 18 cubic meters. These cages was floating in Euphrates river near Mussaib city on the Iraqi summer conditions. This study was continued for 12 weeks. The fish was feeding from feed contain 30% protean .the quantity of feed was 5% from the fish weight in the each cage .The weight was measuring weekly .This study proof that the best rate of increase weight was in lower density( 55 fish for one cubic meter) from size of cage. While the lower rate of increase weight was in the highest density( 77 fish for one cubic meter) . The increase weight of carp fish influence in high densities and the best density in this study was 55 fish in one cubic meter from cage size.

Study the epidemiology of Cryptosporidiosis in children in some areas of Sebha city-Libya

A total of 300 stool samples were obtained from 1-day -5 years old children in several cities AL-Menshia, Al-Gurdha, AL-Naseria, AL-Thanawyia, AL-Sukara and AL-Jadeed in Sebha province / Libya. Two laboratory methods were used : flotation with sheather’s sugar solution and Modified Zehil Neelson stain for detection of Cryptospordium oocysts .The study revealed 51samples17% were positive with highest infection rates in young children between days -1< year and 1-< 2 years, which reached 41.66 % and 31.66 % respectively.

Effect of three concentration of licorice extract with drinking water in some semen's characteristics of local Iraqi roosters

This study was conducted to examine effect of licorice extract that was added to drinking water of local Iraqi roosters on some semen traits .The animal was divided randomly in to four groups. 10%,20% and 30% of licorice extract was added to water of T2,T3 and T4 respectively. Whereas T1 used as control treatment . The results showed highly significant increase in the semen quality compare with control treatment.The ejaculation volume,mass activity, individual motility and sperms concentration increased significantly in T2,T3 and T4 in compare with T1 ,while T2,T3andT4 decreased significantly in abnormal and died sperms percentage. This study indicate that the licorice extract has good influence to improvement of semen quality of local Iraqi roosters .

The Environmental Effect Reduction On Internal Space Temperature By Internal Walls Covering

The objective of this paper is reduced the heat transferred quantities from or to internal building space by covering it's internal walls with many materials, therefore, build the (1x1x2)m room sample at 3rd floor for building in Baghdad city (L = 33.2 °N), and (1x2)m wall has east orientation, while the other surfaces were insulated by 200 mm styropor sheets, and using Air – Conditioner 0.5 Ton of refrigeration to afford the standard thermal comfort.
From search result found that, the hollow faced brick (120mm thickness) with 10mm polystyrene thermal insulation used as a cover layer for ordinary wall saved 47% from electrical energy consumption in Air-Conditioner, while used solid flooring brick with thermal insulation and fiber wood with colour paper covered, the metal sheet painted with thermal plastic paint with 10 mm thermal insulation gives each one of that 41.8% saving, while the covering with one of this materials hallan stone, solid flooring brick, MDF wood with thermal insulation, metal sheet with thermal insulation and metal sheet painted with thermal plastic paint gives about 35% percentage saving, while used the marble, porcelene , ceramic and hollow plastic board (for decorative used) give electrical energy reduction percentage about 27% .

The effect of different levels of oil extracted propolis on productive performance of broiler chicken (Ross).

The research was conducted to investigate the effect of oil extracted propolis (OEP) on production performance of broiler chicken . A total of 240,one day old broiler chickens (Ross) were randomly allocated into 4 equal treatments and each one was included 3 replicates . chickens in the treatment were given an ordinary diet and this treatment was regarded as a control where as ,chickens in the second ,third and fourth treatment were given the same diet with addition of OEP al alevel of 100,200 and 300 mg/kg .the experiment was lasted till the sixth weeks of age .body weights ,weight gain ,feed consumption and feed conversion rate were recorded weekly .
Results showed a highly significant effect (p<0.01) of OEP on body weight in the third and fourth treatments which fed on OEP at a level 200 and 300 mg/kg during the first till the third week of age where as ,no significant effect was noticed during the fourth,fifth and sixth week. Results also showed highly significant effect (p<0.01) of OEP in third,fourth treatments concerning the mean weight gain during the first week of age while these differences were significant (p<0.05) during the second and third weeks of age and the accumulative weight gain (1-3 weeks) showed ahighly significant effect (p<0.01) in the third and fourth treatments .
OEP lead to a significant effect (p<0.05) of feed consumption in the third and fourth treatment during the third and sixth weeks while the accumulative feed consumption (1-6 weeks) indicated a highly significant effect (p<0.01) .OEP showed no significant effect on feed efficiency in chickens .
It was concluded that OEP led to significant effect in improvement of body weights,weight gains and feed consumption during the first till the third week of chicken age at a level of 200 and 300 mg/kg

The influence of cytokinin and NPK compound fertilizer on some yield components and active compound of (Nigella sativa L.) plant

The experiment was conducted in the field of Biological Department , College of Education (Ibn Al-Haitham) , University of Baghdad during the growing season of 2010-2011 to study the effect of cytokinin (Kin.) concentrations and the Level of NPK fertilizer on some harvest characteristics and active compounds in Nigella sativa L. plant . The experiment was divided according to Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replicates . three concentrations of cytokinin were used (50,100,150)mg. L-1were used in addition to the control treatment and two levels of compound NPK fertilizer (17:17:17) were (160,320)Kg.ha- 1with control treatment (zero) .So the experiment was factorial (3X4X3). The Results showed that treatment with cytokinin and compound NPK fertilizer and their interaction significantly increased all studied characters especially at the concentration of 100 mg. L-1 cytokinin and the level of fertilization 320 kg.ha -1 NPK on the rest of the treatments.

The Antibiotic Effecacy of Metholic Extract of Ginger (Zingiber officinale) on some bacterial species

Disc diffusion method , Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) were used to determine the antibacterial activity of methanolic extract of Ginger (Zingiber officinale) against: Escherichia coli ,Pseudomonas spp. ,Salmonella typhi and Staphylococcus aureus .The results showed an inhibitory effect of the methanolic extract on both the growth of the tested bacteria . E.coli was more sensitive to the methanolic extract ,since the averageof diameter of inhibition zones were (19.33,20.67,21.67) mm to the concentrations of (200,300,400) mg/ml respectively while S.aureus was more resistant to methanolic extract ,since the average diameter of inhibition zones were (10.33,12,12.67)mm to the concentrations of (200,300,400)mg/ml respectively. The (MIC)of E.coli, S.typhi ,Pseudomonas spp. and S.aureus were : (0.6,1.25,2.5,5) µg/ml respectively and the (MBC) to the bacteria mentioned above were (1.25,2.5,5,10) µg/ml respectively.

The study of UV-Visible & FT-IR spectra were studied both of reagent & complex in organic phase . At last the new study for determination of Co (II) ion organic phase was began .

Effect of Depleted Uranium As One of Nuclear Waste on The Collapse of The Immune System and The Spread of Cancerous Diseases and the impact of higher cost through treatment

It is very harmful to human health. When human body exposure to its effect leads to collapse the immune system and causing different diseases. This article focuses on the effect of adverse effect of uranium radiation on people of Babylon city .Tests were made by an environmental specialist team. Researchers were conducted the statistical analysis of cancer patients number distributed in all areas of the city. Data were taken from Morgan hospital . Comparison between regions of city center show that there is highest injury severity in some areas but not the other. The highest intensity of infection is directly proportional to the intensity of concentration of uranium in the soil. Comparison is made also between the center and its districts.

The Performance level of Extension -agriculture of the Agricultural Employees in the Province of Nineveh and its relation with some variables

The study of the extension performance level of the agricultural staff occupies an important place in the extension studies in the field of agricultural sciences .The agricultural employees represent the mainstay of the extension work and the base of the pyramid .So, their performance should be recognized and work to raise their efficiency thus ,this study was to achieve the following objectives :
1-Identifying the correlation between the level of performance of the agricultural employees in Nineveh province and each of the following independent variables (age, sex, marital status, academic qualifications, growing) ,specialized in agricultural extension ,job title,the administrative assignment ,work location ,the duration of the career service ,the duration of the extension service ,training during service time, the work nature ,the material work conditions, efforts assessment and the organizational weather).
2-Determining the relationship between the level of the agricultural employees and independent factors in the province of Nineveh .
The study community included agricultural employees working with the agricultural circles and departments in the province of Nineveh ,who were 565 agricultural employees . A random sample was taken in a proportion of 35% of the agricultural employees to be the number of (198) employees.The information were collected via a questionnaire by interviewing and post. The results of the study get to (48) extension works approved by expert teachers from the department of the agricultural extension and transferring the agricultural techniques of the college of agriculture and forestry and the teachers of the department of business administration at the college of administration and economics and the teachers of the department of psychology at the college of education and the teachers of the department of sociology at the college of arts at the university of Mosul.
The study results showed that there is a positive significant relationship between the level of performance and each of the following independent variables : The duration of the extension service, training, the nature of the work, the material circumstances of the work, efforts assessment and the organizational weather .
The study results showed that there is a negative significant relationship between the level of performance and the duration of the career service .The study results showed also that there is a positive insignificant relationship between the level of performance and the following independent variables : The marital status and the administrative assignment .The results showed that there is a negative insignificant relationship between the level of performance and the following independent variables (age, sex, the educational level, growing, specialization, the job title, the work location) .The study illustrated that the factor (the nature of the work) was the most contributive factor in explaining the variation in the level of performance ,followed by the factor (the organizational weather) and (the duration of the extension service) then (the duration of the career service) ,and then (in-service training) and finally (the assessment of efforts) .

Role of Nitrogen and Zinc in nutritional state of fenugreek plant (Trigonella foenum – graecum L .) .

An experiment was carried out in the green house of Biology Department/ College of Education Ibn-Al-Haitham / University of Baghdad by using plastic pots with capacity of 4 Kg soil , the experiment was designed according to a completely randomized design(CRD) with three replications.
The experiment was conducted to study the influence of foliar application of four concentrations of Urea(46%)as a source of nitrogen (zero ,500 , 1000 , 2000) ppm , and three concentrations of Zinc Sulphate as a source of zinc (zero,25, 50 ) ppm and their interaction on the elements concentrations (nitrogen , phosphorus , potassium , calcium and magnesium) in the vegetative part of Fenugreek plant cultivar(Indian). The aim was also to assess their effect on (No.of grains/plant)and (seeds yield /plant).
Results indicated that foliar application of Urea and Zinc sulphate and their interactions gave significantly effect on the nutritional and the yield status of Fenugreek plant particularly in the case of the concentration 1000 ppm Urea and 50 ppm Zinc sulphate which gave the best values of characteristics studied .

Comparative Effects of Ocimum Basilicum ( Dried Leaves and Seeds) as Feed Adittives to Oxytetracycline on Broiler .

This work aimed to study the effects of different concentration of dried leaves and seeds of Basel as feed additives and an alternative to antibiotics on broiler performance , which have ant inflammatory ,antibacterial and others medical effects.
These experiment used ( 60) broilers chicks of one day age type Hubbard, The chicks divided randomly into ( 4) groups and each group of ( 15) chicks.
The study showed the effects of different concentration of basil dried leaves given in 0.20% ,and 0.40% as feed additives , comparated with antibiotic addition of oxytetracycline 40 ppm ,. T0, T1 , T2 , T3 , and T0 as control . Parameters of weight of chicks, feed consumption , feed conversion and weight gain . The result showed the chicks fed Basil diets had significantly improved the performance of broilers than those of the control.It would suggested that the supplementation of broiler chicks with diets 2g/ kg – 4 g/ kg of Basil improved production performance and as alternative to the antibiotics as feed additives

Effect of Gibberellic acid concentration and superphosphate fertilizer level and their interaction in some growth characteristics of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum L.)

An expeiment was conducted in the green house of Department of Biology / in College of Education Ibn – Al – Haitham / Baghdad University for the growth season (2008 – 2009)to study the effect of four concentrations of gibberellic acid ( 0,25,50,100 ) ppm and three levels of concentrated triple superphosphate ( 0.25 , 0.50 , 1.00 ) gm / pot on some c.v local characteristics related to Fenugreek plant (Trigonella foenum graecum L.) in which cultivated in pots of ( 5 kg ) soil per pot. The experiment was performed according to complete random design ( CRD) and three repeated whereby the experiment has included (36) pots.
The results showed that the concentration of (50) ppm of gibberellic acid and the level of (0.50) gm / pot of superphosphate led increase to a significant increase in dry weight , plant height
, number of branches per plant-1 ,increase number of pods and percentage of protein of fenugreek plant.

This study aimed to find the effective means to protect onion bulbs from Black Mould disease caused by the fungus Aspergillus niger in natural circumstances storage through testing the efficiency of some chemical treatments (Moncut, Urea) and biological treatments (Trichoderma harzianum, T. viride)) on the growth of A. niger.
The results showed the efficiency of chemical and biological treatments that used in the inhibition of radial growth of A. niger on the Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) as the percentage of inhibition reached 100 % at concentration 2 gm/L for Moncut, As for Urea, the rate of the diameters of the colonies at the concentration 15 gm/L reached about 13.97 mm with percentage of inhibition reached 84.47 %, while the rates of the diameters of the colonies reached 12.16 mm with percentage of inhibition reached 86.48 % at concentrations 15 % in the treatment of antagonistic fungus filtrate T. harzianum and reached 13.43 mm with percentage of inhibition reached 85.07 % at concentration 15 % in the treatment of antagonistic fungus filtrate T. viride in measuring with the Control treatment which the rate of the diameters of the colonies reached 90.00 mm, The results also showed that T. harzianum and T. viride have a higher antagonism ability against A. niger on (PDA).
The results of the storage experiment had cleared efficiency of chemical and biological treatments that used in reducing the percentage of bulbs infection with fungus A. niger after the expiration of the storage which reached 3 months, and was treated bulbs with Moncut are more efficient which reduced the percentage of bulbs infection to 4.34 %, followed by treatment antagonistic fungus filtrate T. harzianum, which reduced the percentage to 12.76 %, and the results also showed that no significant differences between the antagonistic fungus filtrate T. viride and Urea treatments in reducing the percentage of bulbs infection at the level of possibility 5 % as reached (19.14-22.91) % respectively in measuring with the treatment of the Control which the percentage of bulbs infection reached 62.5 %, As for the effect of chemical and biological treatments on the weight of the bulbs, the results showed the efficiency of various treatments in maintaining the normal rate of bulbs weight as reached 493.6 gm in the treatment of Moncut while ranged between (478.5-485.8) gm in the treatment of antagonistic fungi filtrate T. viride and T. harzianum respectively, while reached 435.4 gm in the treatment of Urea in measuring with treatment of the Control which was the percentage of bulbs infection reached 284.2 gm.

Effect of Lead acetate on the blood physiological criteria and the level of liver enzymes in male white rats Rattus rattus

This study was conducted in the animal house of the Faculty of Medicine / University of Kufa on 60 male rats Rattus rattus weighing 200 g and of two months age in 2009 for the period from 1/7/2009 until 1/1/2010 to know the Lead acetate in some blood physiological criteria and the level of liver enzymes in treated animals .
The results of the current study showed that there was a significant decrease in the concentration of Hemoglobin Hb and the number of Red Blood Corpuscles (RBCs) and the mean of the Packed Cell Volume( PCV) and a significant increase in the total number of white blood cells (WBCs) and the mean of Erythrocytes Sedimentation Rate( ESR).
The results showed significant reductions in the Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH) ,the Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC) index , Color Index (CI) and Volume Index (VI), while the results showed significant increases in the level of liver enzymes Alanine amino transaminase ALT and Aspartate amino transaminase AST when compared with the control group and these effects were more pronounced at the doses of 30 mg / kg and 40 mg / kg for the period of 50 days.

Un experiment was conducted during the season of 2009/2010 to investigate the effect of sprays number (one spray , two sprays) and different concentrations of Micronite 35 and their interaction on growth and yield of Eggplant var.Bercelone.
Results showed that the sprays number and the concentration of Micronite 35 and their interaction had a significant effect on vegetative growth characteristics and yield . The interaction of two sprays with 2.5 g / l of Micronite 35 gave the highest average of plant height, leaves and branches number/plant , leaf area/plant, fruits number/plant, fruit weight, yield/ plant and yield/plastic house amounted to 79.50cm, 80.11 leaf , 13.16 branch, , 192.91Dc2 , 41.28 fruit, 139.13g, 5.741kg/plant, 2.210 ton respectively. Study of Water Quality of Diyala River in some regions of Middle-Lower Basin

Hydrochemistry of Diyala River (Middle-Lower Basin) was studied in order to determine the physical, chemical properties, water quality, pollution, the influence of human activities and natural processes. Ten water samples were collected along Diyala River from Kelar region to the meeting point of Diyala river and Tigris river southern Baghdad city. The physical properties included hydrogen number (pH), total dissolved solids (TDS) and electrical conductivity (EC), but in term of chemical properties, samples were chemically analyzed for cations and anions (Ca+2, Mg+2, Na+1, K+1, Cl-1, HCO3-1, SO4-2, NO3-1). The results of physical properties had been shown that the pH is within acceptable limits according to the WHO, 2006 guideline and Iraqi guideline, 2009 for drinking water, while the TDS, EC values are higher than the acceptable limits of the mentioned guidelines.
The average concentrations of the following cations and anions:
( Ca+2, Na+1, Cl-1, SO4-2) are higher than acceptable limits, but the average concentrations of anions ( Mg+2, K+1,HCO3-1,NO3-1) are within acceptable
limits of WHO, 2006 guideline and Iraqi guideline, 2009 for drinking water.
The dominated cations in Diyala River are Na+1, Ca +2 and the dominated anions are Cl- 1, SO4-2 whereas the evaporation process is dominating in the river. The water quality is Na-Ca-Mg-SO4-Chloride, the results showed that the river water is very hard and most of the physical and chemical properties are higher than acceptable limits, so it is unsuitable for drinking. From calculating sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) the river water appear to be suitable for irrigation and it is appear to be classified as S1 Level, which is no harmful regarding sodium.
It appears that the wrong use of water in Diyala basin and unprogrammed use of fertilizes, effect of trocars, the influences of industrial wastes, sewage sludge, human activities, all these factors contributed for worsen the quality of Diyala river water.

Taxonomic Study on Larvae of Flies causing Myiasis on Human in Karbala Governorate

Myiasis is the infestication of live human and and vertebrate animals with dipterous larvae ,which , at least for acertain period , feed on host`s dead or living tissue , lipuid body substances, or ingested food. Larva flies are collected that causes Myiasis from human wounds. Larva stages have been reread to get adults insect for in order to reinforce the process of description and diagnosis.
The number of branches for Anterior spiracles , Posterior spiracles , Peritreme, button , the order of spiracles Slits in addition to the differences in parts of cephalopharyngeal skeleton have been used in preparing keys to diagnosis the 3rd stage larva for the species that cause myiasis. Locallity records , date , of collection and hosts have been included for most species . Results recorded : Two families contain three species caused these larvae myiasis in human they are: Familly Calliphoridae contain of two species Chrysomya megacephala (Fabricius) and Lucilia sericata (Meigen) . Muscidae consist of onespecies Musca domestica Linnaeus . they result show case of myiasis between Chrysomya megacephala and M. domestica in women toe.the other one on men leg that’s Lucilia sericata larvae.

Influence of Vapor Gard and storage temperature on some storage characteristics of orange fruits local Cv.

This investigation presented was to study the effect of storage temperatures ( 0 , 5 , 10 ) 0C and ventilated room as a control ( T1, T2, T3 and T0 ) and vapor gard ( 0 , 2 , 4 % ( ( VG0, VG1 and VG2 ) on some orange characteristics of orange fruits local Cv. For two months .
The results showed that used of VG and Low of storage temperatures caused significantly decreases of weight loss and juice percentage , but they did not effected significantly on TSS and pH of juice fruits .

Anatomical study of the petiol of the genus: Mosa l . (Mosaceae) & the genus Canna l . (Cannaceae) and it species in Iraq.

The Tow genus Mosa L. and Cannas L. and species C.indica and C.flaccida .in Iraq has been anatomically studied .
The study includes anatomical characters of transverse section of petiole.
Most anatomical characters were proved to be of diagnostic value .like the shape and distribution of vascular bundles, diameters and numbers of parenchyma tissue and pith unit ,and the shape of the tissues cells.
The characters were be useful to separate the taxons, and have been studied for the first time.
Figures and plate for the section were prepared for all taxons .In conclusion tow genus Mosa L. and Canna L. and tow species C.indica ,C.flaccida were recognized for Iraq.
