journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 70-78

This study was conducted to evaluate the caries experience, saliva pH, salivary flow rate and tea consumption in smokers and non-smokers patients.
The samples were composed of 60 subjects divided into two main groups 30 male for non- smokers and other 30 male for smokers. They asked about smoking behaviors, the dietary habits including frequency of tea consumption per day and the quantity of the sugar intake, and oral health behaviors for both groups. The dental caries was assessed using DMFT index and the saliva pH and the salivary flow rate were measured. Student t -Test and correlation coefficient were used for statistical comparisons.
The results indicated that the DMFT and the salivary flow rate were decreased with exception that there was no significant difference between saliva pH between the smokers and non-smokers groups. In addition to the frequency of tea consumption was higher in smokers than in non-smokers and with increased frequency of tea consumption the DMFT decreased. The conclusion of this study indicated the long term use of the tobacco smoking affects the dental caries and the salivary flow rate but does not affect on the saliva pH. It is possible to increase the frequency of tea consumption but with less amount or free from sugar.

The use of defat soybean flour in production of Iraqi dough bread

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 82-87

The possibility of Iraqi dough bread production from a mixture of soybean and wheat flour was studied. The ratios of 25%, 50% and 75% of soybean flour were adopted, represented by A, B and C respectively in addition to the control treatment (i.e. 0%) represented by R. the percentages of protein, moisture, ash and gluten were determined. Farinograph apparatus was used in the determination of water absorption percent, arrival time, dough development time and stability. Iraqi dough bread method was applied and the diameter and thickness of the bread were measured. Quality elements were evaluated using panel test by ten referees.
Results appeared an increase in the protein and ash percentage, water absorption, arrival time and thickness of the bread as soybean flour per cent increased. On the other hand, the diameter, moisture per cent, gluten, dough development time and stability were decreased as compared with the control treatment. Statistical analysis revealed no significant effect at p<0.01 due to the treatments on the remaining characteristics (i.e. the color of the upper and the lower surfaces, odor, test, chewing, and the shape). It could be concluded that, it would be possible to produce Iraqi dough bread using 25% soybean flour with acceptable properties without using any enhancements.

Analysis of Donum Productivity Of Wheat yield In IraqOf ( 1986 – 2003 ) Duration

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 72-81

Analysis of variance had been achieved by using Completely Randomized Blocks Design to compare the donum productivity of harvested land of irrigated and rained regions in Iraq of ( 1986 – 2003 ) duration , this means it was done eighteen blocks . The result indicated there were significant differences between the two regions in their productivity at ( 0.01 ) and ( 0.05 ) level of significance. The productivity average of irrigated area were equaled (1324.8) kg/ha but the productivity average of rained area equalled (767.7) kg/ha of the same duration , so the irrigated area was better . But the average of both regions was (1073.2) kg/ha. This average consider low in case of comparing it with the productivity average of agricultural land of the world countries. The important suggestion is to do our best to rise the productivity average by adoption of the useful world experiments and by adoption of Iraqi experts to farm the wheat by intensive and extensive agriculture .

The Plasma Radiation Power Losses in Toroidal Fusion Reactors

Ali Abdul Ameer Rashead

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 1-9

In this work we calculate the radiation power losses as a function of temperature (T) and as a function of density (ne). The radiation losses strongly influence the fusion power density and attainability of ignition. Radiation power loss include recombination radiation (PR), bremsstrahlung radiation (PB), line radiation (PL), and cyclotron radiation (PC) for plasma in toroidal fusion reactors. We do these calculation because the radiation power losses decrease the net power we get from fusion reactors and losing the plasma particles so we must determine these losses to understanding how can we reduced these losses to increase the net fusion reactors power through confining the plasma particles as long as possible .

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 115-122

We have studied the motion of electron in electromagnetic field using relativistic quantum mechanics to find the eigen values of energy and eigen function for electron by solving Dirac-Equation for electron in a vector potential (AZ=AX=0) and Ay=HX (the field H being along the Z-axis).
We used the second-order equation for the axially function Ф and assume that Ф is an eigen function of the operator ΣZ with eigen value σ =± 1.

Studying the Total harmonic distortion (THD)for multilevel DC/AC Inverter

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 20-30

This paper presents the generation of sinewave AC voltage from DC battery using Cascaded multilevel inverters connected in series . The concept of multilevel voltage source inverters and their topologies are described. The (Optimising stepped sinewave) technique for a cascaded multilevel inverter is presented to get an ac voltage from a dc power supply in order to decrease the total harmonic distortion in the output voltage of the multilevel inverter by applying two techniques: zero crossing and nonzero crossing for different steps . The optimised harmonic stepped-waveform technique is applied to the multilevel inverter using cascaded-inverters with separated dc sources for 3,5,and 7 nonzero crossing stepped sine wave by using Matlab software . The effect of number of steps on the generated voltage has been analyzed .Total harmonic distortion is decreased by 23.29% for zero crossing stepped and by 22.29% for non-zero crossing stepped.
Key words : Inverter, Zero crossing, non zero crossing, OHSW technique, Low switching frequency, AC and DC voltage, THD.

Studying Of Binding Energy Of Electrons In Multi Electrons Atoms By Fermi-Statistics

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 137-142

The method of finding binding energy for electrons in atoms has many difficulties, because there are many mathematical difficulties in it. Up today the problem isn't solve completely and explicitly except for H-atom and for ions like it i.e. the ions have one electron in the outer orbit. To find of He-atom every theories an approximation method to find it. To find the binding energy in multi electrons atom for example (U92) need to solve a system of (92) partial differential equations with (276) independent variable and its impossible to do that, it has been found the binding energy for H-atom in the early days of quantum mechanics. It has been put an equation for the binding energy of H-atom.
Also it has been found an approximate equations for binding energy for He-atom and Li-atom by (Born) by a method called (Born approximation method) it has been reached to a results near to experimental results. It has been found binding energy for large number of atoms approximately in many scientific research institutes. (Hartree, fock, Rothaan).

Uniform Relative Reciprocal Velocity in Lorentz -Einstein Transformations

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 85-98

The relative dimension velocity were converted to the relative time velocity in all equations by using the reciprocal of the velocity that equal to the negative of time velocity. The equations of the relative time velocity of two moving particles are in the same and opposite direction. The resultant of time velocity of two moving particles travel with right and less right angle ,while the resultant of time velocity in three-components. The relative uniform translational and rotational time velocities are derived from the known dimension velocity equations. The Lorentz- Einstein transformations are converted by the principle formula(reciprocal ). In addition to, the classical relative of elapsed time was produced in a different directions of two moving particles, so that the time values was postulate to verify the time of moving one particle or more. The new relative reciprocal equations give an obvious and complementary idea about the classical relative motion, whenever the special relativity of moving particles with very high time velocities are also verified.

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 36-42

Study was conducted on (100) Friesian cows about ( 3-6) years with different levels of healthy and food, suffer from dysfunction ovary ( delay of oesterus ) and inactive ovaries morbidity cases for the period (45-60) days after the birth of the year (1999 – 2000 ). in the major milk cows Station / Kusseba City / Wasit conservative . For treatment the cases and follow-up to come back to the oesterus and performing artificial insemination and follow-up pregnancy. Study was adopted to treatment to pay food and hormone during open days (100 - 120), cows were divided into three cases (two therapeutic cases and control), which in turn is divided into five groups according to treatments with control.
Infer from the study was that the payment of food before and after parturition and improve it's quality is the most important things in the management and husbandry of animal before and after birth and throughout their life cycle before puberty and focus on the period after parturition to restore the animal to his natural career .The hormone therapy must be linked with payment food, especially emaciation or functional delay cases, inactive ovaries did not respond for hormonal therapy only unless improving health and nutritional status of the animal, as well as genetic status of the animal based on breed selection in terms of feed conversion and access to sexual maturity and its ability to maintain energy balance of the most important is what makes the situation normal of animal in terms of production during the period of his life. Also that the treatment with progesterone and GnRH has a role in restoring ovarian activity from delay cases. The functional delay be easier treatment of ovarian inactivity, which is determined by the payment of food only and may not need hormone therapy, especially after the food situation in particular.

Utilisation of sesame (Sesamum indicum) seeds and its' oil in laying quail diets for improving egg quality traits

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 123-136

The objective of this study was to determine the influence of feeding diet containing different levels of sesame seeds and oil on egg quality of laying quail. A total of 120, 10 weeks old were randomly assigned to 1 of 5 dietary groups, and were fed for 12 weeks diets containing 0 % sesame seeds + 0 % sesame oil (control group; C) or 0.5 % sesame oil (T1), 1 % sesame oil (T2), 1 % sesame seeds (T3), and 2 % sesame seeds (T4). The study was terminated when the birds were 22 weeks of age. Egg quality characteristics involved in the present study were egg weight, yolk diameter, yolk height, yolk weight, albumen height, albumen weight, Haugh unit, shell weight, shell thickness, shell percentage, yolk percentage, and albumen percentage. The addition of sesame seeds and oil to the diets of laying quail (T1; T2; T3; T4) resulted in significant improvement in the total means of the traits and the mean of trait during all periods of study respecting egg weight, yolk diameter, yolk height, yolk weight, albumen height, albumen weight, Haugh unit, shell weight, shell thickness, shell percentage, yolk percentage, and albumen percentage in comparison with control group (C), with the exclusion of shell percentage when has been observed that there was no significant difference between treatments C and T1 during period 4 and between treatments C, T1, and T2 during period 5. The results obtained in this study suggested that the inclusion of sesame seeds and its' oil into laying quail diets caused significant positive effect on egg quality criteria. Therefore, incorporation of sesame seeds and oil into the diets of Japanese quail may have practical value in manipulating egg quality.

Synthesis and Inhibition effect of 1,3-Oxazepine derivative on AST and ALT activities in Vitro study

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 152-160

1,3-Oxazepine derivative is an antidepressant with a mild sedative component to its action. The mechanism of its clinical action in man is not well understood. In animals, amoxapine reduced the uptake of noradrenaline and serotonine and bloked the response of dopamine receptors to dopamine.
In order to study the Kinetic of human serum alanine amino transferase (ALT) and aspartate amino transferase (AST). Anovel oxazepine derivative prepared in our Lab. Was used to study its effect on ALT and AST since both enzymes are involed in the evaluation of hepatic disorder, on the other hand oxazepine among other drugs that are eliminated by the liver.
The kinetic study confirmed that this oxazepine derivative act as non competitive inhibitor for both ALT (GPT) and AST(GOT). The Vmax was found to be 113.5 U/mL and 85.18 U/mL for the non – inhibited and inhibited ALT respectively with Km value of 2.5 ×10-3 mol/L. As for AST, the Vmax was found to be 207 U/mL for the non-inhibited enzyme and 164.1 U/mL for the inhibited AST. The Km Value Which is the same for the uninhibited and the inhibited enzyme was found to be 1.2× 10-3 mol/L.

Study the Effect of Dimensional Design inside the Discharge Tube of an Electrothermal Accelerator on Axial produced Plasma

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 137-147

This paper is a study of the effect of the dimensional design factors of the discharge tube inside an Electrothermal Accelerator on the axial plasma produced inside the tube. A theoretical approach has been investigated on the base of our previous experimental researches and on the base of universal researches in this field. A low-pressure coaxial discharge is investigated theoretically on the base of one- dimensional axial fluid model. This type of surface-wave-plasma source is relatively new in comparison to the classical cylindrical plasma column sustained by an electromagnetic surface wave. In the coaxial structure the dielectric tube is filled with air at normal pressure and a metal rod is arranged at its axis. The plasma is produced outside the dielectric tube in a low-pressure chamber by an electromagnetic wave traveling along the plasma- dielectric interface. The plasma is both radially and axially inhomogeneous. In this paper we have investigated theoretically the role of metal rod and dielectric tube radii on the wave and plasma characteristics on the base of one- dimensional axial fluid model

The effect of magnetic dipole moment on the nuclear structure of isotope

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 223-240

The values of magnetic dipole transitions operator and the probability of transitions B(M1), magnetic moments μL, and gL factor have been calculated in terms of one body and one and two bodies energies, using the interacting boson model, depending on the total number of bosons (s-boson, I=0) and (d-bosons, I=2).
The total number of neutron (proton) bosons was separated in the calculation of eigen vectors, using the same Hamiltonian parameters. Isoscalar and isovetcor components were used in the present work to find out the values of , B(M1), μL, and gL factor for Ba(A=136, Z=56) of U(5)-O(6) dynamical symmetry.
The comparisons between results were found in a very good agreement.

Demographic characteristics - geographic and population problems in Iraq for the period 1987-2007.

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 116-138

In order to shed light on all the course of research and achieve the desired objectives related to the geographic and demographic characteristics of the problems suffered by residents of the country and that can be highlighted through the folds of research and as follows:
(1) The number of Iraq's population, around mid-2007 (29682081) million after the number was in the census of 1997, which (22,046,244) million, an increase of absolute rate (7.6%) and an annual (5.7%).
(2) low total fertility rate and crude birth rate among the population of the country and clearly since 1990, I dropped from (6.3) born to (5.3), born in 1994 and dropped the second (60) born in 1990 to (28.1), born in 1994, and this evidence of the fact that the Iraqi population live growth phase transition.
(3) the gradual decline of the crude mortality rate and infant together and faster rates of fertility and population growth rate in mid-2007 to (2.7) per thousand and decreased mortality (55) thousand in 2002 and to (51) thousand in 2004.
(4) low proportion of young (0-14 years) by (9.4%) for middle-aged (15-59 years) in 2007 compared to 1997 as the percentage (6.7%).
(5) improve maternal health due to improved fertility pattern of lower total fertility rate and private, which has emerged through the extraction of the correlation coefficient between the rate of total fertility rate and maternal mortality, as was the correlation coefficient to (0.68), meaning the low rate of maternal mortality by one (68%) at birth 100000 live births.
(6) high dependency rates, crude and dependency rates, the real with the contrast between the provinces, with an average maintenance of crude at the country level (85.0) (79.7 for young and 5.2 for adults) At the provincial level came province of Muthanna, the highest percentage (89.8 (84.7 for young and 5.08 for adults), the highest rate of the country and in Salahuddin province, 89.3 (84.2 for children and 5.09 for adults) in mid-2007 while the rate of dependency on the level of the real diameter of 6.4 people per economically active person.
(7) received the province of Baghdad (the capital), the vast majority of the population size of (7.14547 million) million in 2007, a rate (24.7%) of the total population of the country for the same year, this underlines the received streams of internal migration and confirmed by several studies.
(8) The inhabitants of the diameter of the low rate of economic activity through the review of rates of economic activity in 1997 of (17.01%) of workers and to whom (11.8%) only, as follows:
• low economic activity rate among the population of the country who are over the age of 15 years to 17.01% and the staff were to 11.8%.
• Distribution of the economically active population of Iraq, according to the three main sectors of activity as follows: - the first sector (48.7%) the second (12.1%) third (17.01%).
• The distribution of the economically active according to scientific status as follows: - employer 6.5%, 52.7% paid staff working out, worked for a family of 6.5%.
(9) the distribution of Iraq's population has seen clear contrast distracted and focused.
• The density of public at the country level about 68.2 inhabitants / km 2.
• The physiological density at the country level about 2086 inhabitants / km 2.
• concentration of population in the provinces of Baghdad, Babylon, as a proportion of inhabitants (29.6%) of the total population of the country in 2007 while the proportion of Messahthma not exceed (2.2%) of the total area of the country. And the rest of the population of 70.4 living on an area of approximately 97.8% of the total area.
(10) due to the low proportion of agricultural workers decreased agricultural production (31%) of the value of GDP in 2000 to 6.6% of GDP in 2005, as adopted country on the import of food commodities due to drought, low rainfall and the variability of water levels in rivers Tigris and Euphrates, which has helped push the unemployment rate to 17.9% in 2005.
(11) different distribution of the proportion of urban population and levels of urbanization by province went up in Baghdad province to 86.7% of the total population of the country in 2007 came after the provinces of Sulaymaniyah, Dahuk, Erbil, Missan, Basra, with rates ranging between (70.1% and 73.1% and 75.9% and 76.9% and 78.2%), respectively.
(12) and to solve all the problems that have been reviewed researcher recommends the relevant authorities to adopt a policy of economic, social and cultural take country-levels of neighboring countries or more, providing free health services to segments of society and to provide employment opportunities in different levels to reduce unemployment amounting to (17.9) in 2005 in particular the work of agricultural and water supply by modern methods of spraying and punctuation and to encourage local agricultural production and reduce dependence on imported it.

Justice and the Scope of Applying it by the Deans at Kerbala University

journal of kerbala university, 2009, Volume 5, Issue 4, Pages 139-163

The present study is conducted at the University of Kerbala for the year 2009-2010. The study includes 3 chapters wherein a new innovative scientific work is introduced, which is not handled before as far as the researchers are concerned. The study unifies the legal methodology with the educational methodology wherein the study falls into three theoretical chapters in law where each chapter has three targets and a final applied chapter where theory is applied depending on the educational research to achieve the objective which aims at revealing the justice level applied by the Deans.
After the three chapters are completed in terms of defining justice and explaining its significance in some administrative aspects of justice like the application of decisions and the evaluation of Deans’ performance, then setting a chapter which completes the previous chapters, a sample of (150) instructors who work in the (11) colleges in Kerbala University, was chosen i.e. the number of Deans to be evaluated is (11) Deans.
The researchers have used questionnaires in setting the instrument of the research which includes 30 points which were verified and proven, through which one can measure the Deans’ justice. After gathering data they were statistically examined by extracting the normative deviations using Pearson coefficient where the following results were reached:
1. The Deans’ justice level reached 78, 80% with a normative deviation degree (23, 22) which is higher than the virtual mean which is (60).
2. When using the second test for a single sample to know the statistical significance, it appears that the second calculated value (12, 37) is bigger than the T-value (1,96) with a degree of (149) and a significance level(0, 05).
This indicates that there are differences of statistical significance in favour of the research sample i.e. there is generally a high level in applying justice by the Deans.
