Abstract
TiO2,Cu2O nanoparticles and TiO2/Cu2O nanocomposite have been synthesized by electrochemical deposition method. The synthesized nanoparticles and nanocomposite characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).Results showed that TiO2 nanoparticles have average size of (8-14)nm, Cu2O nanoparticles have average size of (11-15)nm and TiO2/Cu2O nanocomposite have average size of (13-20)nm.
The synthesized nanoparticles were applied to remove 1-nitroso-2-naphthol from aqueous solution. UV-vis spectra results indicate that the percentage of degradation with the sequence
TiO2/Cu2O= 89%< TiO2= 68% < Cu2O= 42% .
