Physiological , Biochemical and Histological effect of Digoxin on Heart and Liver in male Rabbit

AbstractThis study was designed to determine the effect of a drug digoxin on some functional standards and biochemical serum in adult male rabbits. That used (15) of male rabbits and were randomly divided into two groups. The first a group was control group injected with distilled water, and the second group was the group treated with a drug digoxin dose of 0.02 mg / kg body weight per day intravenously for a period (60 days) Done taking blood samples from both groups to measure the concentration of some biochemical parameters and estimate the level of enzymatic Aspartate Transminase (AST) and enzyme Alanine Transminase (ALT), Cholesterol (Chol) Triglyceride (TG) High Density Lipoproteins (HDL) Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL) Very Low Density Lipoproteins (VLDL) in the blood, as well as knowledge of the impact on histological structure on the heart and liver.The results of the study showed significant increase P <0.05)) in the concentration of enzyme ALT, AST, increase in Cholesterol (Cho), Very Low Density Lipoproteins , lipoproteins and a low-density Low Density Lipoproteins, and Triglyceride compared with control group. The study showed a significant decrease P <0.05)) in the level of the high density Lipoproteins compared with control group and the study indicate that drug digoxin have a clear impact on the heart and liver tissue.
